August 28, 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of the outstanding Ukrainian scientist, the founder of the national scien-tific school in the field of computer linguistics and linguistic technologies, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology (1985), the Potebnya Prize of the NAS of Ukraine (2021), founder and permanent direc-tor (since 1991) of the Ukrainian Lingua-Information Foundation of the NAS of Ukraine, doctor of engineering sciences (1999), academician of the NAS of Ukraine (2012) Volodymyr A. Shyrokov.

On May 18, 2017, at the Kyiv House of Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine were held a presentation of the two-volume edition of the "Ukrainian-Georgian-Russian-English-German-French dictionary of metallurgical terms" and a scientific seminar "International "Ukrainian-Georgian-Russian-English-German-French dictionary of metallurgical terms" — cooperation without borders".

Our products

Together with the E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute (EWI), ULIF-NAS had compiled and released on CD-ROM in amount of 1000 copies first electronic explanatory "Ukrainian-Russian-English Dictionary of Welding" with advanced semantic and illustrative functions.

From the resolution of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (20.03.1991 No 90/26A) on the establishment of the Ukrainian Lingua-Information Fund of the NAS of Ukraine by reorganizing Potebnia Institute of Linguistics and the Scientific Information Department of the Institute of Mathematics of the USSR Academy of Sciences — to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (04.12.2020 No 1528) "On the Results of Scientific Institutions State Certification", which approved classification group I (world-class institution) to Ukrainian Lingua-Information Fund — 30 YEARS!

Three decades under the constant super-successful scientific and organizational leadership of its founder and director, our dear academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Shyrokov. Three decades of unique language and information scientific research:

creation of fundamental scientific theories and development of scientific concepts at XXI century science level, creation of new type multimedia dictionaries; introduction of information systems, databases and knowledge bases of a general cultural nature (in particular, the first and only Integrated Lexicographic System "Dictionaries of Ukraine", academic Explanatory "Ukrainian Language Dictionary in 20 volumes", etc.);
creation and maintenance of a scientific object that is a national treasure: "National Dictionary Base";
coordination of research in the field of computer and cognitive linguistics and lexicography in Ukraine (creation and development of a universal system of national linguistic resources and national linguistic infrastructure – "All-Ukrainian Linguistic Dialogue");
performing important tasks for the state leadership.

And this list can be further supplemented and specified. On this spring anniversary day, we wish all our dear colleagues and partners, true professionals and friends good health, happiness, great success and inexhaustible inspiration and energy in our numerous linguistic and computer projects!

May our joint and fruitful work expand and flourish for the benefit of Ukraine!
